Main Bearings

  • Main bearings are those in which the crankshaft rotates
  • Hold the crankshaft in place while preventing forces created by the piston from dislodging the crankshaft
  • Considered a “sacrificial part”: requires replacement at maintenance intervals to avoid crank damage over time
  • We stand behind our guarantee for top customer service, quality, on-time delivery, and manufacturing excellence of heavy wall main bearings

Description

Main bearings are the bearings on which the crankshaft rotates. The main bearing firmly holds the crankshaft in place and therefore halts the forces created by the piston and transmitted to the crankshaft by the connecting rods from dislodging the crankshaft. This action instead forces the crank to convert the movement into rotation. The heavy wall main bearing contains a heavier wall in order to withstand greater pressure/force.
