Main bearings are the bearings on which the crankshaft rotates. The main bearing firmly holds the crankshaft in place and therefore halts the forces created by the piston and transmitted to the crankshaft by the connecting rods from dislodging the crankshaft. This action instead forces the crank to convert the movement into rotation. The heavy wall main bearing contains a heavier wall in order to withstand greater pressure/force.
Thin Wall Bearings
Also known as plain bearings or sleeve bearings, thin wall bearings are useful in numerous applications—including pump bearings, turbine bearings, and compressor bearings—offering benefits you can’t get from rolling element bearings. We can create sleeve bearings with walls ranging from .175 to 1 inch or greater, and any size up to 3.875 inches.
Don’t see the diameter you need? We can custom-manufacture a range of options.
